Parklands Baptist Church's Podcast
December week 5 Theme Vision_Undeserved Favour
What if the coming year isn’t earned but given? We explore the surprising logic of undeserved favour and why it might be the most hopeful way to step into 2026. Drawing on Mary’s encounter in Luke 1 and Esther’s rise to influence, we trace how grace can bypass palaces and still arrive at your door with purpose, power, and timing that reframes what’s possible.
We walk through the greeting that changed everything—“you have found favour”—and unpack how identity, courage, and assignment line up when faith is stirred by hearing. Along the way, we break down three anchors that steady the soul in uncertain seasons: divine prerogative that ends comparison, divine power that silences inadequacy, and divine purpose that gives your gifts clear direction. These aren’t abstract ideas; they shape how you plan, pray, and respond when new opportunities appear that you didn’t engineer.
You’ll hear practical ways to prepare your heart and your calendar for grace: creating margin for new assignments, speaking blessing over specific areas of your life, and replacing self-disqualifying stories with language that builds expectancy. We reflect on how favour often starts as a seed—a conversation, a small step, a quiet yes—and how to steward those beginnings toward impact that reaches beyond you. If you’ve ever felt overlooked or underqualified, this conversation offers a different story to inhabit and a clear path to act on it.

As we prepare to enter a new year, the year 2026, I want to share with you a message titled God of the Undeserving. And I share this message because I sense in my spirit that God will do something in 2026 in your life that you do not deserve. And so prepare yourself. Prepare yourself because you're gonna get a visitation of this God of the undeserving. We've just celebrated Christmas, and there is a story of a young lady called Mary who received a divine visitation. She was not deserving, but what God deposited in her life was something she never ever imagined or ever thought about. And even as I I share this message, I remind you of verse that you probably know very well. 1 Corinthians chapter 2, verse 9 and 10, that says, What no eye has seen, no ear heard, nor the heart of man conceived, God has put in store or prepared for those who love him. And in this coming year, I want you to enter with expectation, uh, lift up your faith, because God is coming, the God of the undeserving, and he has something bigger than you've ever imagined or even conceived. Um, let me just read some scriptures from the book of Luke, chapter 1, uh, because faith comes by hearing and hearing God's word. And you hear what happened to this lady called Mary. Luke chapter 1, verse 28 says, The angel went to her and said, Greetings, you who are highly favored, the Lord is with you. Mary was greatly troubled at his words and wondered, What kind of greeting is this or might be, that this might be? But the angel said to her, Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God. You will conceive and give birth to a son, and you are to call him Jesus. I say to you today, as we reflect on the God of the undeserving, that you have found favor with God. Receive it now in Jesus' name. That's what heaven is saying regarding you and regarding the year 2026. You have found favor with God. And um Mary was a poor, uneducated, obscure lady who was not deserving, but God bypassed the homes of kings and bypassed priestly homes as well, palaces, palatial homes, and and uh and also priestly homes to find Mary. God will find you, you have found favor, he's a God of the undeserving. And let me say this: He will visit you and get to you because of his divine prerogative. God has chosen you, divine prerogative. God has picked on you here 2026 for his favor, divine prerogative. Secondly, divine power, he will do it because he's able. God is able to lift somebody from nothing to become something. But finally, he'll do it because of divine purpose. God wants to achieve something through you, and for that reason, he will find you where you are by his favor and take you through. There's a lady called Esther in Esther chapter 2, verse 17, who found favor with the king and she became a queen instead of Vashti. And therefore, this coming year, I am saying, God of the undeserving has picked on you. And not because you merit, but because of his grace. And this coming here, he's going to fulfill his purpose and mission through you. He's going to do something that you've never ever imagined before. And therefore, receive this favor from the God of the undeserving. May God come through for you in the year 2026 in a big, big way. In Jesus' name. Amen.
