Parklands Baptist Church's Podcast
February Week 1 Theme Vision_Touch, Believe, Be Made Well
Start the month with a clear heart and a steady step. We open with a powerful reading from Mark 5:25–30 and follow the path of a woman who carried twelve years of pain and found immediate freedom through a simple, courageous touch. Her journey is more than a miracle report; it is a map for anyone who feels stuck in noise, fear, or fatigue.
First, we slow down and examine the voice we let shape our days. Are we tuned to headlines that drain hope, or to the word of God that wakes faith? We explore how hearing the good news reframes our inner world, shifting attention from anxiety to promise. Then we move from belief to motion. Obedience does not earn grace; it aligns us with it. Through the woman’s decision to push through the crowd, we unpack how small, honest steps—showing up, asking for help, choosing prayer over panic—become the hinge moments where redemption takes hold.
Finally, we sit with the power of connection. The touch of the garment is not superstition; it is faith reaching the Saviour himself. We talk plainly about the points of contact that often masquerade as security—money, status, even well-meaning family—and why only a direct encounter with Jesus brings lasting freedom. This reflection offers practical, grounded encouragement: listen to the right voice, take the next right step, and reach for a real connection. As February begins, consider this your invitation to a redeemed rhythm, where hearing leads to action and action to healing. If this speaks to you, follow the show, share it with a friend who needs courage today, and leave a review to help others find a fresh start.

Shalom, greetings. I greet you all this very morning, the new month of February, the year 2026. It's a blessing, it's a joy, and I bring the meditation word of the power of redemption through salvation or through our Savior Jesus Christ. And I bring the meditation word from the book of Mark, Mark chapter 5, from verse 25 to 30, and I read A woman suffering from bleeding for 12 years had endured much adamant doctors. She had spent everything she had and was not helped at all. On the contrary, she became worse. Having heard about Jesus, she came behind him in the crowd and touched his robe. For she said, If I can just touch his robes, I'll be made well. Instantly her flow of blood ceased, and she sensed in her body that she was cured for her affliction. For us to experience the power of redemption through our Savior, the first thing that we need to be is to be aware of ourselves. I don't know how it has been in the month of January for you, or in the past season, maybe last year, or the years that has been, maybe like 12 years, like this lady or this woman we have just read. She went through charity for 12 years. But when she got to know herself, she had the ability to hear three things. She had that is the awakening power of the good news. She had verse 1027. When she heard about Jesus, what are you listening to? What is the voice that is reckoning in your mind? Some of you, the music you listen, is not about, are you reading the word of God? Is it the word the voice of God that is coming into your mind? Or are you listening to the news of what the world is happening, the economics of the world? I challenge us, me included this very morning, that may the voice that we hear is about the word of God. That will redeem us the work of the cross, the ability to hear, the awakening power of good news. That is the ability to hear. What are you hearing? What are you listening to? So she was able to. So that's the first thing. Second thing, she took action. She took action. That is the obedience of the go mandate. She didn't just hear about Jesus, she actually had and actually walked or drove to where she was, where Jesus was. So she came behind him in the crowd. That is a redemption activated when faith is expressed through obedience. Redemption is activated when faith is experienced through obedience. I pray this very morning and this very new month that we have gotten into that you shall take an action. You shall not remain where you are in your agony, in your poverty, in your charges, but you shall take action because you have heard the word of God. The third thing is that she touched the point of contact with the Savior. She touched his garment. So freedom flows when faith connects directly with the Savior. What are you connected with? Is it maybe your rich uncle or your family? Is it because of your bank balance that you feel that now I'm secure? No, you're not redeemed by that. But may you be redeemed by the point of contact, by getting to know who Jesus is on a personal level. So I challenge all of us this very morning, as we meditate on this word, that may we hear the word of God. And as we hear the word of God, may we know that that's where the freedom starts. When our heart becomes attentive to the word of God. May we take an action. That is the mandate, the go mandate. Don't just sit there idle. But may you know that redemption is activated when our faith is expressed through obedience. And the third thing is that may we touch our point of contact with our Savior. Because freedom flows when faith is directly connected to our Savior. So God bless you and I wish you a redeemed month of February. Shalom.
